Well actually the sound with the standard eartips was slightly underwhelming. The case is small and probably won't be big enough if you upgrade the wire to a 16 core cable.Īfter unpacking, my initial thoughts were these not only look great but feel exceptionally built. The Moondrops come in a very nice box, included are a variety of ear-tips and a handy little case. I have way too many iems / full headphones but these are going nowhere, a definite keeper ! Been listening to my Dan Clark Aeon 2 closed most evenings but still go back to the moondrops for a listen as well ( yeah they are that good ), providing you get a good seal, change the tips for something that works better like Spiral dots + or Spinfit or Azla buds and get it running on balanced as the extra power is a benefit and get a dual pouch to protect against chipping the paint ( campfire audio sell a small pouch to hold the iems whilst attached to the cable) and you good to go for many an hour of listening bliss. Really impressed with these the quality of tuning is spot on and coupled up with a 4.4mm balanced cable and a set of azla tips the fit is perfect and isolation 10/10, had the KXXS and was impressed with those but these equal them if not better for nearly half the price. Had time to settle the driver in now so just a bit of an update. Sound great out of the box and I've in ears 20x the price in my collection, cables a bit rubbish but it's easily changed. They actually sound better than the Shure SE535 or the Sony XBA-H3! If you want to buy earphones for under £100, I cannot imagine anything better. This ones are, by far, the best bargain I ever had. competition is so fierce that you do not need to spend a fortune to get great quality. It makes no sense whatsoever other than nowadays, like computers, TVs, etc. Price: I simply cannot understand how can they be so cheap looking and sounding so good. I honestly do not know how they did it!ģ. They do also have sparkle in the highs too without distortion or big peaks which is remarkable for a single dynamic driver. They are tuned to sound natural and they have good sound stage. Sound: They almost follow perfectly the Harman target curve so no need for equalisation at all. Stainless steel build with beautiful sparkly deep blue paint, as beautiful as my old Audi A3. I own or had owned decent in ear headphones like the Shure SE535 and the Sony XBA-H3 so I know what decent sound for in ear models looks like.ġ. I have a large collection of headphones several of which are well above the £800 mark and I also have several very expensive headphone amplifiers.
